Stuck mid-game? Enter all 16 letters from your Boggle board and SmartUnscramble instantly reveals every valid word you can form — from simple 3-letter words to rare 8-letter discoveries worth maximum points. Works for standard 4×4 Boggle, Big Boggle (5×5), and any letter grid game.
Boggle scoring rewards longer words heavily — a 3-letter word scores 1 point while an 8-letter word scores 11 points. Finding the longest words in your grid is the key to winning.
Enter your 16 grid letters
Type all the letters showing on your Boggle board into the search box. Include every letter — even Q (which always pairs with U in Boggle). Order does not matter for finding possible words.
Review results by length
Start with the longest words — 7 or 8 letters — for maximum points. Then work your way down. Even if you cannot trace the path on the board, this tells you what to look for.
Verify adjacency on the board
Our solver shows all words possible from your letters, but Boggle requires that each letter is adjacent (touching) to the next on the grid. Trace the word on your board to confirm it is playable.
Hunt for Q and X words
High-value letters boost your score significantly. If your board has Q or X, look specifically for words using those tiles — they are often overlooked but score well.

Note: Words must be at least 3 letters to count. Duplicate words (found by both players) cancel out in competitive Boggle.
Scan for common suffixes
Look for -ING, -ED, -ER, -EST, -TION, and -NESS clusters on the board. Common suffixes connect to many different root words, multiplying your word count.
Find the S tiles first
S tiles turn singular words into plurals, instantly doubling many of your finds. Find every S on the board and work backward to what words they could end.
Start from rare letters
Trace words outward from Q, X, Z, and J first. These letters are hardest to use, but the words they form are least likely to be found by opponents — meaning they count even in competitive play.
Use prefixes systematically
RE-, UN-, OUT-, and OVER- prefixes often hide in grid corners. Identifying a prefix cluster and scanning for root words attached to it is a reliable way to find 6–8 letter words.
The solver reveals every valid word possible from your letters. In competitive Boggle, duplicate words cancel out, so knowing more words than your opponent is the real advantage — our solver gives you that edge.
Long uncommon words score the most. Words like OUTRANGES (9 letters) and STRANGLES (9 letters) each score 11 points when verified on the board. Any 8+ letter word earns the maximum 11 points.
Yes. The Boggle Q tile always shows QU together — you never get Q without U. When entering your letters for solving, you can type QU as a pair.
